The German couple officially entered India in August last year. They have been on the road for almost 12 years and during this period they have been able to visit nearly 90 countries besides India.
According to reports, Thorban was an engineer by profession and Michi was a writer. They have two children - a 6-year-old son and a 9-year-old daughter. After visiting many states in India, they recently went to Coscode and were met by many locals who knew about the couple. The couple was thrilled with the response from the locals. People are very friendly and the landscape is great.
While the couple was on their way to Munnar, they stayed in Kozhikode or Calicut. The couple also visited other places like Varkala, Alappuzha, Mararikulam, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. After entering India last year, the couple embarked on a country-wide tour to learn more about the culture and beauty of those places. In another report, the couple said that Kerala as a state has a lot of potential for the caravan tourism industry and efforts should be made to further promote it. He even mentioned this to the Director of the Kerala Tourism Department.
The Mercedes 911 4 × 4 truck that the couple is using for their road trip is truly fully customized for their travel needs. It's actually a small house on wheels.
